This piece is called ‘Yaburuhma Bunday’ meaning ‘always near’ in my fathers language.

This piece symbolises life after death, the unbearable pain of the loss of the ones that we love and the inevitable healing that comes with those emotions.

Like many others, I have experience great loss! I lost one the most important people in my life, my dad, to a dreadful disease. I’ve used my own experience and perspective as inspiration for this artwork.

The brown arch/semi circle represents a person (you). The green circles on the right side and inside the arch represent your loved one who has passed. This symbolises that even after death their memory lives on through you. The colourful dots represent every decision you make, every dream, every moment and every time you succeed or fail. A reminder that they are with you always. The blue represents the river that flows down Mt Tamborine (located on my dads country) the fresh water cleanses our spirit and allows their memory to live on.

I hope this piece reminds you of someone that you love dearly who is no longer physically with us.

“Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.”
