CIMIC x CPB Art Workshop

In a collaboration with CPB Contractors and CIVIC, Tarni Jane Designs had the privilege of delivering an art workshop to 150 newly graduated engineering students. This unique workshop, held against the backdrop of cultural understanding and collective symbolism, aimed to instill a sense of unity, purpose, and interconnectedness among the graduates as they embarked on their professional journeys.

The workshop delved deep into the symbolism of belonging to something greater and the connections we share with each other and the world around us. Through the lens of Aboriginal culture, participants explored the power of values in driving positive change and fostering a sense of community.

The Artwork Process:

Each group of graduates was entrusted with a single canvas, serving as a blank slate for their collective creativity. Drawing inspiration from contemporary Aboriginal symbols, participants embarked on a journey of self-reflection and artistic expression, using their canvas as a medium to symbolise their unique connections, values, and aspirations.

As paintbrushes danced across the canvas, each stroke became a testament to the individual and collective journey of the group. Vibrant colours and intricate symbols intertwined to weave shared experiences and shared values, culminating in a masterpiece that transcended individual perspectives.

"The Bigger Picture":

Upon completion, all individual canvases were brought together, seamlessly merging to reveal "The Bigger Picture." Like pieces of a puzzle coming together, the unified artwork symbolised the interconnectedness of the graduates, their shared journey, and the collective impact they could achieve by working together.

The unveiling of the final artwork was met with awe and admiration as participants witnessed the tangible representation of their collective efforts and shared vision. It served as a powerful reminder of the strength that lies in unity and the potential for positive change when individuals come together with a common purpose.

Impact and Reflection:

Beyond the strokes of paint and the merging of canvases, the workshop left a lasting impact on the graduates, fostering a deeper appreciation for cultural diversity, collaboration, and the power of art as a catalyst for connection and understanding.
